The Second Chance Scholarship is a new scholarship opportunity offered by the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative.
The Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI) was created to increase the attainment of college credentials and degrees for underserved students in Colorado. The project addresses the challenge of attending college in two ways: accessibility and affordability. To increase accessibility, COSI funds programs that will help prepare students for college, as well as support them through the completion of their credential or degree. To increase affordability, COSI provides tuition support to community scholarship programs, so that tuition costs are not a barrier to entry and student loan debt can be decreased. By increasing student success programs and financial resources, COSI’s efforts will result in greater college access and completion for Coloradans.
The Second Chance Scholarship is for individuals that wish to pursue a college degree and have been released from the Division of Youth Services (DYS) commitment facility within the last 5 years may be eligible for up to $5,000 each year toward the cost of education. Choose among many college and career path options, including a traditional college degree to online & certificate programs.
